Ayesa Digital acquires Kuik Digital Solutions, a company specialising in Artificial Intelligence
The acquisition strengthens Ayesa Digital’s high level of technological specialisation and execution speed in software engineering and Applied AI.
For Kuik Digital Solutions, joining Ayesa Digital provides access to new capabilities, greater financial strength, major accounts and larger-scale projects.
Ayesa Digital has completed the acquisition of Kuik Digital Solutions, a Basque ‘AI-first’ company that will strengthen its capabilities in software engineering, digital transformation and Applied Artificial Intelligence. With more than 15 years of experience, the company combines bespoke software development, AI, DevOps and technology advisory services to transform processes and improve business outcomes.
Headquartered in Errenteria (Gipuzkoa), Kuik Digital Solutions has more than 70 professionals working as part of a multidisciplinary team with expertise in software engineering, AI, data, DevOps and digital transformation. The company has generated approximately €4.5 million in revenue following several years of strong growth.
Its broad and diversified client portfolio includes organisations such as MasOrange, CAF, Danobat, Sarralle, Indar, Biele, Dibal, Algeposa and Railsider, among many others. Together, these clients account for dozens of successful projects across sectors including telecommunications, industry, mobility, energy, logistics and services.
For both companies, the transaction represents a clear opportunity for growth and development, both in new markets and in new areas of business.
An ‘AI-first’ strategy
‘AI-first’ companies are those that place Artificial Intelligence at the centre of their strategy, operating model and decision-making processes. Against this backdrop, and following the completion of the acquisition, Ayesa Digital is accelerating its ‘AI-first’ strategy by immediately incorporating a senior team with hands-on experience in software and Applied AI, AI-assisted development methodologies and a stronger presence in the Basque industrial market.
As Manuel Baraza, CEO of Ayesa Digital, explains: “Kuik brings agility, customer proximity, specialised talent and hands-on experience in real-world use cases, while we provide scale, access to major accounts, contracting capabilities and expertise in cloud, data, cybersecurity, compliance, governance and industrialisation. The transaction is therefore driven by a need for speed and specialisation rather than scale,” he emphasises.
For his part, Félix Vela, CEO of Kuik, says that joining Ayesa Digital marks the beginning of a new phase of growth: “It enables us to bring our software and AI capabilities to larger-scale projects, gain access to major accounts and complement our offering with the new capabilities Manuel has mentioned.”
“At the same time, the integration has been designed to preserve what has made Kuik distinctive: agility, customer proximity, senior talent and our culture of innovation. The combination allows us to scale our capabilities without losing our operational identity,” Vela adds.
Against this backdrop, both companies have set the goal of scaling Kuik’s capabilities and turning them into an accelerator for Ayesa Digital’s AI-first strategy, enabling the company to position Artificial Intelligence at the heart of its operations, processes and decision-making.
A strong commitment to growth
From the outset of this new phase, the objective has been to grow and further develop all of Ayesa Digital’s activities, and this acquisition represents a significant first step.
“Kuik is a strong, solid and proven business with leading reference clients, enabling us to deliver cutting-edge technology more rapidly, together with a high degree of specialisation and speed of execution,” says Manuel Baraza.
Ultimately, the transaction aims to jointly develop new AI solutions for clients, bring Kuik’s specialised capabilities to major accounts, introduce AI-assisted software development and maintenance practices, and accelerate AI adoption within Ayesa Digital itself.
“All of this will be achieved through a gradual integration designed to protect talent, customer relationships and Kuik’s roots within the Basque Country’s technology and industrial ecosystem,” the company’s CEO emphasises.
