Byte TI recognizes an AI project developed by Ayesa Digital for Salamanca city council

The project has transformed Salamanca City Council’s digital engagement with citizens and businesses, delivering significant improvements in operational efficiency and user satisfaction.

Byte TI, a magazine specializing in technology, IT and cybersecurity, has recognized an e-government and public service modernization project developed by Ayesa Digital. The project, which involved the launch of Salamanca City Council’s new website, was named ‘Best AI-Powered Citizen Service Project of 2026’.

The award highlights Salamanca City Council’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with citizens and businesses through the use of advanced technology in a secure and responsible manner. It also reinforces Ayesa Digital’s position as a trusted partner to the public sector in its digital transformation journey, helping public administrations adapt to an evolving environment that demands faster, more efficient and simpler processes.

To deliver the project, Ayesa Digital leveraged the capabilities of Liferay DXP to build a modern, omnichannel web ecosystem centered on citizens’ needs. To enhance the browsing experience, the platform incorporates artificial intelligence-powered tools, including the Vega chatbot, which helps users find information and complete administrative procedures more easily.

The new municipal platform enables city council staff to create and manage content efficiently, without requiring technical expertise. It also features dedicated sections for Open Government and citizen participation, encouraging public engagement through surveys, forums and activities of interest.

In addition, the website includes a dedicated citizen services area that brings together municipal service directories, online administrative procedures and multiple channels for interaction and feedback, including enquiries, complaints, suggestions, incident reports and surveys.

Ultimately, Salamanca City Council’s digital transformation strategy, implemented in collaboration with Ayesa Digital and Liferay, has resulted in a new web ecosystem that is more modern, accessible and personalized. Designed around the needs of citizens and businesses, the platform delivers a simpler, smarter and more user-centric digital experience.
