Ayesa Digital modernises education management across Ceuta’s schools

Fenicia streamlines and automates administrative processes while providing real-time access to student information from any device.

The platform is an adaptation of Séneca, a solution developed more than 25 years ago in Andalusia and subsequently adopted by several Spanish autonomous communities.

Non-university educational institutions across Ceuta now benefit from a modern, integrated education management system thanks to Fenicia, the technology platform developed by Ayesa Digital. Spain’s Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports has selected the solution—already successfully implemented in several other autonomous communities—to enhance the efficiency and productivity of the education system in the autonomous city.

Fenicia is an adaptation of the Séneca platform, originally developed by Ayesa Digital for the Regional Government of Andalusia more than 25 years ago. Today, Séneca is recognised as one of Spain’s leading education management platforms. As a market leader in educational technology, Ayesa Digital has been responsible for adapting, developing, deploying and delivering training for the platform to meet Ceuta’s specific educational requirements. The project also included the migration of data previously managed through other applications.

The new Fenicia system replaces the former Alborán platform, introducing more intuitive and reliable tools. It comprises a range of modules that simplify and automate both academic and financial management processes across all types of non-university educational institutions, including early childhood, primary, secondary and vocational education centres. The solution provides real-time access to up-to-date information through a single, high-availability transactional database. It also includes additional capabilities such as teacher professional development, as well as advanced data reporting and analytics.

Juan Pavón, Director of the Education Division at Ayesa Digital, commented: “Fenicia has transformed education management in Ceuta by simplifying the administration of educational institutions and enabling families to access comprehensive student information from any device.”

Through this initiative, the Ministry of Education aims to deliver significant improvements in operational efficiency, productivity and overall service quality. The new model enables the Ministry to focus its resources on higher-value activities, leveraging its expertise where it can have the greatest impact while enhancing the effectiveness of the education service.

Following its implementation in educational institutions across Melilla, Fenicia joins a growing family of adaptations based on the Séneca platform, which continues to evolve and has been made available to numerous autonomous communities under a source code transfer agreement with the Regional Ministry of Educational Development and Vocational Training of the Regional Government of Andalusia. Today, several education management platforms have evolved from the original Andalusian solution, including Rayuela in Extremadura, Yedra in Cantabria, Racima in La Rioja, Sauce in Asturias, Delphos in Castilla-La Mancha and Raíces in the Community of Madrid.
