Ayesa Digital explores quantum technologies applied to nuclear fusion
The company takes part in a session examining disruptive approaches to accelerate the development of facilities such as IFMIF-DONES.
The Palacio de Quinta Alegre in Granada, the institutional headquarters of IFMIF-DONES in the city, hosted the ‘Impact of the Ambassador Programme’ session, organised by the Exponential Technologies Department of the Andalusian Digital Agency (ADA) in collaboration with ANIA, IBM and Ayesa Digital.
The event focused on the role of quantum technologies in the field of nuclear fusion, exploring the opportunities that quantum computing and other disruptive approaches offer to accelerate the development of facilities such as IFMIF-DONES, the future high-intensity neutron accelerator to be built in Escúzar (Granada).
Several members of the OPTIMA-DONES consortium played an active role in the session, including IFMIF-DONES, Ayesa Digital, the University of Granada, the University of Málaga, TD, CT and other project partners.
OPTIMA-DONES’ participation in this forum reflects the project’s commitment to knowledge transfer and collaboration with the European scientific and technological ecosystem, fostering synergies between nuclear fusion research and today’s most advanced technologies.

Following the session, attendees had the opportunity to visit the IFMIF-DONES facilities in Escúzar, where they were able to see first-hand the progress of the ongoing work and the prototypes currently under development. The visit provided a highly valuable experience for all participants, reinforcing the shared vision of a pioneering project at the forefront of fusion energy research.
